A talent acquisition manager reached out to me directly on LinkedIn, where she shared information about the position, location, and pay. The pay was less than what I am making now, but decided to hear them out because I was thinking of changing career paths. I did a phone interview, a zoom interview, and then an in person interview with this company. The interviewer seemed very inexperienced and asked me questions from a checklist. Each time I related my experience to the new role, it seemed like she didn't think I would be a good fit. Which is completely fine, but she continued to let me speak while kind of dismissing my experience. Even if she didn't think it was relevant, I wish she had just said something instead of doing a full one hour interview with me. It was very confusing because the recruiter continued to tell me what a great fit I would be. I am also a firm believer you are interviewing the company. I kept trying to ask about office culture, processes and procedures, benefits, opportunity for advancement, etc.. Each of these points weren't ever really answered besides saying that things are really good. Not a lot to go on... I expressed my concerns about the pay, and told her I would like to advance at the earliest opportunity as well. After we spoke, she walked me to the elevator, and sent me downstairs while she went up. She swiftly said goodbye, with no "we will be in touch" or "we will let you know". I waited almost 2 weeks (after sending a follow up "thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to hearing from you" email) to hear back from them, and I was not selected for employment. I felt really confused since the recruiter was saying how great my resume was, and the interviewer seemed to have other thoughts on it. I feel like my time was wasted, and I never actually had a chance at this job since I wasn't what the manager was looking for. and THEY ASKED ME TO COME IN is the real kicker. I wasn't striving for this position, I was asked to interview for it, and I agreed to speak with them 3 times (once in person) and I was told these positions are very selective and competitive. I would not recommend this interview process.
