This was one of the poorest hiring experiences I've ever had. The recruiter was friendly, but that’s where the positives ended. It started when they reached out to me on LinkedIn, asking for my phone number to set up a screening call. I shared my number but asked them to book a specific time, since A) I had other calls and personal commitments, and B) I wanted time to prepare by learning more about the company and jotting down a few questions. This request was ignored—they called me out of the blue, and I was completely unprepared. Our first call didn’t go well as I was caught off guard and wasn't able to present myself in the best way, but they did promise that the hiring manager would call me the next day, though they didn’t give a time. Of course, no one called.
I ended up sending an email to follow up the next day, asking what was going on and what the next steps might be. They called me back, again with no notice (this time I was in the elevator, so it was even harder to talk), and told me they’d decided not to move forward. I’m fine with that decision—it wasn't my best interview—but it would be good to notify me about that. I felt nothing but disrespect for my time and circumstances. If this is how they handle hiring, I can only imagine the working processes in general. I'd like the company to see this review and reconsider its approach.
