I wanted to provide feedback on my recent interview experience with your company. While I appreciate the opportunity to interview for the position, I was disappointed with the outcome and the lack of transparency in the decision-making process. After completing all 5 rounds of the interview process, I was pleased to receive an intended offer from the company. However, I intended to negotiate as the offer was lower than the market rate for the role. After two days of silence, I had to chase the HR for a response. To my surprise, I received a message about the offer being unexpectedly withdrawn, with no explanation provided. When I followed up to inquire about the reason for the withdrawal, I was informed that it was because the offer was a big jump for me. This explanation was confusing to me, as my qualifications were already known before the interview process began, I had cleared all five rounds of the interview, and they had my LinkedIn profile which provides a complete professional summary. I am concerned that the explanation for the withdrawal hinted at a gender bias issue. As a female candidate, it is disheartening to think that my offer was withdrawn simply because I was a woman who was offered a jump in my career. I believe that a fair and objective decision-making process is critical to the success of any company, and it is concerning to me that gender bias may have played a role in this decision. It is important for companies to ensure that their hiring and promotion processes are free from any form of discrimination, including gender bias. I hope that in the future, your company will implement a more structured decision-making process that values the qualifications and experience of all candidates equally, irrespective of their gender.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are sorry to hear how you experienced your interview process. After investigating this situation further, we’ve concluded that the final offer extended was in line with your experience level and competitive from a salary and benefits perspective. We wish this opportunity would have worked out for you; however, our records indicate that you chose not to accept the offer. I can assure you that DEIB are key priorities for Pluralsight and we have specific processes and structures in place to ensure bias does not factor into any decisions (including hiring and compensation decisions). On top of these processes, our hiring managers are trained on how to manage biases during interviews. We’ve confirmed with the team the reasoning behind some of the negotiations and we are confident that gender bias did not impact any of the decisions with regard to your offer. If you would like more clarity on this situation or the team’s feedback, please reach out to Samantha Oakley, samantha-oakley@pluralsight.com. Thank you for the time you invested in Pluralsight and we wish you the best. - Samantha Oakley
