I went in to a room full of people, was asked to return a few days later and was told to dress warm. After asking what a day in the company was like I was taken to a station in New York where the employee I was shadowing showed me that 'being on the field' meant walking around the subway station tricking people into donating money with their credit cards. The lines were god awful "Do you know where I can find the nearest...' baiting people in who are kind and trying to help and then spinning it on them to pitch them a membership donating money to whatever charity they are working for in that day. I was offered a chance to continue onto the next part of the process but declined. The entire situation was very irregular and I hope this report can save someone else's time.

This job is a scam! Please don't bother wasting your time with this company. They target young college students or recent graduates- with promises of being able to move up in the company that is very clearly a pyramid scheme. I applied for a receptionist position and the job it ended up being was nothing like what was advertised. Don't get me wrong- everyone there is very nice. To walk you through my experience- I had applied online and was called into an interview. I walked into a waiting room of about 5-10 other candidates. After meeting with the manager I was asked to come back for a second interview. I was told to dress comfortably but professional and for cold weather as there would be a point where we weren't in the office. I really should've asked why I'd be outside for an interview in an office position buuuut I didn't. So I came in and was introduced to a woman who worked for them-she said she would be essentially showing me what goes on in the company. Again- reeeeally should've asked why. Anyhow, we walked to Penn Station and met up with other candidates as well as people in training and their trainers. I was told we were going to a fundraising event. What that fundraising event was them literally in the subway station asking people for donations for one of their partners an Animal Rights Organization. They wouldn't accept cash donations and ask for people's credit card information and roped them into a year long subscription. After doing this for an hour or two we had a lunch break which was this woman eating lunch in front of me while I ate nothing because I spent my money on the commute there. She detailed that this was the job and that the pay was a base pay of $36/per day and anything else was a percentage of the money you raised. The "promotions" were just assuming the longer you stayed with the company the more money you would make. She asked me if I was interested I could go back to the office for a third interview.
