The first interview is a series of questions where you give your answers and responses are scored by a panel. You are not able to ask any clarifying questions and you determine the pace for how to answer. At the end you are allowed to revise your responses and when you conclude, you can then ask more about the job and expectations.

I was met by the team I would be working with and they asked the standard questions about what you would do if you conflicted with another person at work and how do you pick up or learn new technologies. The team was super nice and had a supportive demeanor. They offered quickly after the interview and I quickly accepted and was given a start date about two weeks away. The day before I start, I get a call that there is a hiring freeze. I don't know how normal this is with this organization but it's something that should be known.
