The recruitment process was riddled with various issues that cumulatively impacted my impression of the company. The recruiter arrived 10 minutes late for the interview without any prior notification, appearing rushed and uncertain about the discussed role. This lack of clarity and punctuality reflected a lack of professionalism and preparation. Throughout the interview, there was minimal interaction, and when I discussed a project, there was little response, hindering my ability to gauge engagement. Additionally, the recruiter opted to keep her camera off, further impeding communication and assessment of involvement. Moreover, the communication timeline exacerbated the situation. Despite applying for the Senior Data Scientist role on 23/10/2023 with an expectation of a response within 24 to 48 hours, I received a reply on 09/11/2023—17 days later, far exceeding the anticipated timeframe. Attempting to reach out to recruiters during this period was futile as their contact information wasn't provided. Even when I contacted Picnic recruiters via LinkedIn, only one responded after 16 days. Altogether, these experiences significantly impacted my perception of the company, particularly its communication approach, which left a really negative impression.

On-site interviews, with a small assignment to be performed on the spot. While the staff are welcoming, the HR talent sourcer and CTO are presumptuous, and completely off market for the offers they can make. For instance, they would offer 50 kEur/year for a senior data scientist having 10+ years of experience. It may be very good for very junior profiles, in order to get some hands on experience, but you should definitely avoid applying there if you have any experience in your own field
