Worst experience I have had with any company. Big egos from the interviewers who are not even looking for devops engineers, they are looking for on-prem old, unskilled in today’s tech employees.
A few specific points I’d like to highlight:
•
The opening exercise was entirely on-prem focused and oddly set in 1999, which didn’t feel relevant or coherent in today’s context.
•
was only given 10 minutes to prepare, yet they expected me to share my screen, draw diagrams, and walk through the scenario live. This kind of task would have been more appropriate as a pre-assessment, allowing time to properly prepare and have any required software open.
•
The interviewers came across as very rude, and made it rushed and as if they didn’t want to be there, especially when I was trying to explain my thought process and approach.
Overall, it didn’t feel like the interview touched on actual DevOps skills. Instead, it came across as a vague exercise with some kind of hidden agenda or puzzle, which felt neither practical nor relevant.
Unfortunately, this was one of the poorest interview experiences I’ve had with any company.
