A very brief interview process. They ask mostly about your availability and how physically capable you are lifting and pushing carts. It did not take longer than 10 minutes. They ask you about your knowledge of customer service.

Applied online through Safeway website. I randomly selected a position and was called in for an interview the following weekday. My store wasn't opening until late June and therefore, the managers were in desperate need of employees. Both managers were sweet and friendly. I was interviewed outside since the inside of the store is under construction. They pulled my application via online and I signed it with my password (make sure you remember your password).
I applied for a Clerk position but it was unavailable. Luckily there were other available positions like courtesy Clerk. I was offered employment and was drug tested via cotton swab on the spot. It takes less than ten minutes for your results and mine were negative, pink lined. Then I consented to a criminal background test the same day. The next day I received a call in regards to doing taxes and i9 forms.
You have to join the union. The payroll is already set for each position.
You're in the parking lot when an angry customer complains to you about their coupon being declined due to the expiration date. She usually can redeem coupons at other stores without an issue. She vows never to return.
How would you handle the situation?
What would you do?
You applied for HBC/Clerk but the position isn't available.
Which position works for you: Starbucks barista, grocery clerk, baker clerk, or courtesy clerk?
