The recruiter scheduled a video conference so I can be interviewed by 2 engineers members of the project management team. Prior to this interview I had a very good discussion with the hiring manager.
The interviewers requested to record the interview but since they couldn't enable the recording, I asked them to contact the host. I told them the only person that can record is the host since their accounts were not set up for recording. They contacted the host (recruiter) he started the recording. Interesting the interviewers didn't ask for my permission to record the discussion. However I didn't want to miss the opportunity to discuss the role's requirements and my expertise.
During the time, I was given for asking questions I asked them 2 questions: 1) what do you like most about your job? and 2) What you don't like about your job?.
I am certain both interviewers took bad my advice about how to initiate zoom recording and my second question since the conversation was being recorded. This only shows me the lack of maturity to conduct interviews with an open mind. My questions were formulated with respect, good intentions, and professionalism. Since the interviewing and selection process is a win-to-win situation all the questions need to be asked and answered.
The recruiter got back to me via phone after 3 weeks after I sent him 3 emails asking for status. I was told I wasn't selected for the next steps since I tried to run the interview. I was really disappointed since the 2 persons I interviewed with didn't have the appropriate professional knowledge to interview me and mainly they didn't have the maturity level to interview a senior program manager.
