Typical phone interview. Lasted 45 minutes. Tell me about yourself and circumstance for working through COVID. What is your leadership style. Why do you want to work here at cbs. Etc.

By far and large the worst interview experience I've ever had the misfortune of coming across. Hiring manager was outright rude and interrogative, nitpicking on every possible minutiae in my CV. Zoom call lasted about an hour but in all honesty I wanted to be out of there at about the 10 minute mark. Interview was a mixture of probing questions that led to unrelated rabbit-holes, two case studies (which I'm dead certain this person made up on the spot as one of them was so out of left field I hardly believed what I was being asked to do) and for whatever reason, unnecessary questions about things outside of the job description (like weird accounting-related questions) that I had to stifle my laughter when asked about. Haven't had anyone mention debits/credits since Accounting 101, but OK chief. I must say in this person's defense however, they prefaced the interview by telling me "if I seem harsh or rude don't worry I'm just testing you to see how you perform under pressure". Guess that gave them the license to be rude because hey, pressure-cooker environment and all that I guess. Had no clue I was joining a trading floor or applying for the emergency department of a hospital. What an absolute joke - glad I was rejected for this shambles of a position. Other person on the Zoom call looked outright miserable working underneath this person, that red flag alone should have been enough for me to end the call early.
