The first step of the process was to participate in an online interview. You'll be placed in a waiting room with several other candidates and a representative from Panda Express will go over the company and some of the benefits of working for them. Once an interviewer has time they'll invite you into a private video conference for a brief interview. If selected to go forward the 2nd step is an interview with one of their area managers. Both of these steps were routine for me and the people doing the interviews were very professional and asked some solid questions while answering all of mine at the same time. The 3rd phase of the interview process is to do a "Panda Preview" where you work for about 6hrs in the store of their choice. When you go in for the preview day they treat you just like a new employee and have you go through all the basic tasks of working in the store. The hardest part for me was practicing on the giant wok they cook all the food in. I believe a lot of what they take you through is to try and scare people off that aren't willing to do small tasks like cleaning dishes and bussing tables. The entire panda preview was very easy for me and I was invited to the final step which was another zoom interview. Unfortunately the person who performed the final interview was very disrespectful and unprofessional throughout. The interviewer looked away almost the entire time seemingly disinterested in everything I had to say. At one point the interviewer called me old and implied that I couldn't manage one of their stores because I haven't been in the fast food industry for several years. It's sad that one of the things that drew me to Panda Express as a company was their inclusive nature only to find out they discriminate against people based on age.

First interview with the recruiter was great, and was moved on to the next stage where I was interviewed by the district manager and a panel. This was definitely the most unprofessional interview I've ever been a part of. Link to the interview call was not provided (nor was any information provided). I emailed the recruiter about it prior to the interview and even called but did not receive a response. About 15 minutes after the interview was supposed to have begun, I received a call from them asking what's going on so I told them the situation. I was texted a link and immediately hopped on, but it seemed like they were blaming me for the issue. Additionally, two of the panelists had their video off which isn't a big deal but it was clear they were driving so anytime they talked it was very distracting and difficult to hear them. The district manager kicked things off and began asking me questions, and it didn't seem to be going well, which I take responsibility for and is not related to my complaints about the interview. After about 15 minutes one of the other panelists begins conducting the interview and the district manager simply logs off without saying a word. I didn't take it personally but that doesn't take away from the utter unprofessionalism. Would never apply to any of their positions again.

They have send me a message that they want to have an interview with me and gave me three zoom interviews options so I went with the option one they had sent me. I have been waiting for 50 minutes for the interviewer to show up to my one on one interview. I messaged the interviewer twice once at 20 minutes and second after the 50 minutes. Sooner to find out the option one was a wrong link. So that was a waste of my 50 minutes just for the interview and he messaged me about 20 minutes before that option time was nearly closed saying that are you still available for the interview? So I went with the option number two the following day. The interview was about 20 to 25 minutes. After we were done with the interview , he said that he will get back with me within 3 to 5 business days for the update. The next day they emailed me that they are not going forward with the application. I felt like the interview started off wrong when they sent the wrong zoom link for one of the interviews and wasted my time to get an email back from them on one of the interview dates.
