It was good. They asked basic questions on education and work experience. It was a friendly interview. It was 1 hour long.
They showed the sample books that they use at the centre. The books come with answer key and teachers are expected to complete all markings during the break time and any extra time they have and are not allowed to bring any students' homework back home including the teacher's copy. They have to complete the markings for as long it takes.
The teachers are given breaks but not guranteed breaks at the mentioned time. I was told that the teachers have to wait for their peers to have lunch and can go for lunch after those teacher stays in your place.
They explained their expectations of the teacher and duties that comes with the role. It seemed like the role was of a teacher and a centre administrator in the same shoes. They explained about the rules of the centre such as teachers keeping the classroom clean and may be required to clean if needed. Teachers' role is to teach and educate but it seemed like they wanted a centre administrator in the form of a teacher.
Also, in the interview, I was informed that teachers are required to commit more than a year and that the centre is not looking for teachers who are aspiring to apply at MOE and those who see this job as a temporary bridge to MOE. They seek someone who can stay long with the company and not have dreams of their own. I was indirectly told to give up the idea of MOE if I am thinking of joining this centre and I was even compared with a female staff who aspired to go MOE but could not get in and was currently teaching at the centre.
