I was first contacted through e-mail. I was asked to set-up a time for a phone interview for a position I never applied for and a company I never applied to. After sifting through the fake Glassdoor reviews and reading the real ones, I became increasingly nervous.
The interview was fairly easy, just getting to know me. However, the interviewer kept asking me how much money I saved previous companies i worked for and how much I increased their profits which doesn't apply to the position itself. The interviewer sounded incredibly confusing about next steps. I had to keep asking if I was supposed to come in for an in-person interview and never got a direct answer.
I was contacted the next day around the same time and told I got the job! I was asked to come in the following day at 7 in the morning! I asked if this was a job offer and I was told that yes, I got the internship. Internship? I was first told this was a full-time position but I guess I was corrected anyway.
I then asked about benefits and the interviewer suddenly became speechless. After taking a long pause I was asked what I meant by benefits which is an incredibly bad sign or red flag. The interviewer then proceeded to tell me that this would be unpaid.
I told PRSPX to have a very nice day and wished them good luck on the job search.
During the interview, I was briefly told about the background of the interviewer and yet he understood none of the terms I threw around and pronounced SQL letter by letter. Another red flag.
If you happen to be trapped in Columbus and PRSPX sends you a shady e-mail, please take my advice and do not waste your time.
