I received an initial call from a young woman who reviewed my resume with me and provided me with details about the interview process. She asked that I follow-up with her by sending my availability for an interview with the partner of the firm. I sent my interview materials and scheduled a time to interview with the partner. Ten minutes before my interview, the partner had his secretary contact me to cancel my interview. She did not provide a reason or an apology for canceling on such short notice. When I asked if the partner wanted to reschedule, the secretary never replied to my e-mail. I have heard from other firms in San Francisco that the hiring partner does not like to hire women and that the partner canceled my interview for this reason.
