Initially a positive experience but turned downhill quick. I received a verbal baseline salary during the initial recruiter phone screen. Proceeded to two rounds of successful interviews. Received a verbal offer that was $10k less than what was initially communicated. I inquired about the discrepancy, stating I did want to flexible but would like to see how close we could get to the salary that was shared with me. (And to which I agreed to prior to moving on to the interview stage. ) Recruiter said he’d inquire and follow back up. Three weeks later and zero communication. Either don’t share the base salary with a candidate if it’s not accurate or be prepared to offer said communicated salary when verbally offering the position. I received positive feedback from both rounds of interviews so it’s extremely disappointing that there’s been literally no communication at this late stage. For awareness, I’ve selected ‘Yes, but declined’ because there’s no other option to fit this unusual and highly disrespectful scenario.
