Honestly by far the most unprofessional interview process I have been through. I submitted an application through indeed and got a response right away from one of the doctors asking if I could meet with them for an interview the following week and that it would take anywhere from 1-2hours as they walk me through the process of what a day in the life of a oral surgery administrative assistant looks like. I arrived to the Windward mall location early and my interview appointment time was prior to the mall opening so I had called asking if someone can let me in, instead I was given instructions on going through the trash/dumpster area since I didnt have a card to get in the employee door and also had to go through various
service doors to find my way. Finally I had reached the office and a oral surgeon assistant was outside helping a patient and had made small talk with me in the mean time. I waited 45 minutes past my interview time but I understood due to the doctor being in surgery. When
the doctor was ready for me she took me to his office to sit down. I was thinking I was about to interview but instead rhe doctor comes in thanks me for my time. I asked if I were to be interviewed to which he responding that the oral surgeon assistant I had met would be the one making the selection. The only questions she had asked me was “How are you?” “Are you from here?” “ “Whered you go to highschool” and “Have you worked in a dental office before?” while she was busy helping a patient check in at the same time. By the end of this I tried to keep a positive outlook and even went to hand my resume over to the doctor he told me to keep it and “we’ll call you if we call you”. I drove an hour during morning traffic to Kaneohe, waited 45 minutes for my “interview”, studied Oral Surgery Hawaii and its practices intensely only to receive not even two minutes time. I tried to follow up three weeks later to which they just told me the position is no longer available.
