J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Optiver (Chicago, IL) en févr. 2020
Entretien
First, I had a non-technical phone screen with recruiter. Then I was invited to complete a comprehensive HackerRank challenge. This test was to be completed over 72 hours and tested system design, data structures, and algorithms. No part of the challenge was super difficult in isolation, but it was quite difficult as a whole. Optiver got back to me 3 days later with the invitation to interview onsite. I was very impressed with their expediency. During the onsite, I had 2 whiteboard interview sessions, a review of the coding challenge, and discussion with the Head of Technology. I thought the interviews were challenging and well-structured. Every question involved trade offs in designing a complex system, requiring you to think critically about every decision you made.

Question 1
Design a custom protocol around UDP that satisfies certain guarantees
A bit anxiety inducing, there were two developers observing and asking questions. Real-time problem solving required, conducted on Hacker Rank virtually, video and mic enabled - quite nervewracking to say the least
I had one round, which was an online HackerRank test. I wasn’t able to pass all the test cases, and as a result, I did not progress to the next stage of the process.
A lot of interviews. Started off with a call, then some online tests. Then a technical interview. Then a live coding interview along with a architecture interview. Last step would have been final day interview but I did not get that far.
