in my opinion the interview was not organised properly by the staff at Ofgem.
I was made to feel really uncomfortable from the moment I met Interviewer 1. I stood up to shake their hand assuming we would be going through to the interview, interviewer 1 then looked me up and down and had a smirk on their face. They then told me to sit back down while they waited for there to be a meeting room available but took a copy of my documents at this point.
When interviewer 1 returned with the documents she handed me them in the most awkward way and then proceeded to tell me that there was a room available and hurried off ahead.
Once in the meeting room, I then met interviewer 2 , while I was trying to organise my documents into my bag after not having time to do it on the way to the meeting room, interviewer 2 was staring at me as though I was doing something I shouldn't be.
Interviewer 2 did not introduce themselves and i felt the interview was extremely rushed.
Only 4 questions were asked and the questions were irrelevant in my opinion. Whilst the interview was being conducted I felt there was a tense atmosphere which did not help with any nerves that I had. Interviewer 1 at certain points would make faces to Interviewer 2 or roll her eyes which then made me feel extremely uncomfortable.
I did feel like stopping the interview but thought it may be best just to carry on until the end. The interview only lasted 15 minutes in total.
Due to the situation I had when attending the interview, i feel like this is not a place where I would like to work and therefore withdrew my application.

Fairly standard behaviours based interview. My interviewers were very friendly and put me at ease. The interview started with an ice breaker question 'what attracted you to this role?' I had 4 behaviours questions and one technical question. All fairly easy if you prepare using the Civil Service success profiles.

I applied for the role and had my interview around 4 weeks later. The interviewers were pleasant enough, the questions, on the other hand, I found quite tricky - they were lengthy and quite hard to interpret. They are very keen on the STAR technique so make sure to follow this and use relevant examples.
As a side note, the role is advertised as "Assistant Manager - Operations" but from my understanding of other reviews its more of an administrator role.
