Without a doubt the most bizarre interview I have ever been to. After the initial application, I and 16 others were invited to a group assessment day. Initially, we were shown a PowerPoint which went far more in depth about a completely irrelevant position (Costa barista) than the Cinema Host role, and subtly noted that you would not be paid until the end of your second month there. After that we were set several "team building" activities that felt more like cheap party games - the highlight (if you could call it that) of this was having to make a Dragons Den-esque pitch for a flimsy plastic sword, which while enjoyable seemed totally irrelevant to the position and the assessment day. In addition to this I found the main interviewer to be quite unfriendly, he made several passive aggressive comments under his breath to people.
Needless to say, I was not asked back for the next stage of the interview process.
The interview process felt very relaxed and informal, with plenty of time set aside at the end for questions and discussion. We met in a Costa next to the Odeon, which helped keep the atmosphere comfortable.
Presentation about working at Odeon. Group Interview was very fun. Then 1-1 interviews but it was more like 2-1. There was a cinema manager then a cinema host asking the questions and writing down notes. People who had full availability have a better chance of getting in than those who can’t work past 11pm

the interview process was very relaxed, with a very nice manager.Felt like a nice conversation, even if I didn't get an offer, it was a good experience. A lot of back and forth. Some of the questions were a bit odd such as the favourite food question, but it felt like they wanted to know me more as a person to see if i would fit in their team.
