I applied last month and I didn’t expect to get an interview as it said if you haven’t heard back within two weeks. You haven’t been successful. However, the manager called me on Friday for an interview for Monday! I thought it was a one to one interview but more people turned up and I realised it was a group interview! Two members of staff and the manager took us in a cinema and introduced each other. After this, we got told to introduce ourself and what is a favourite movie and why? I was around fifth as she started from the end of the role. The manager actually told us that she was impressed as in previous interviews that she has done, some candidates ask to go to the bathroom and never return. Then we were put into three groups, Retail, Customers and Appearance. I was put into a retail group and we had 20 mins to find out information then to present our findings. My group was first and we were all confident people which they seemed to have liked. A couple of people in other groups were quite shy but everyone did well. Then we were told we would get one to one interviews whilst watching trailers. Either with the manager or two members of staff. I was lucky to get the members of staff and they praised me for being outspoken. I was told I would hear back in a week. I heard back the week after and the manager personally emailed me to say I was unsuccessful but she was very impressed with me with my group interview & movie answer and there was a great people in my interview (I was one of them) but she found it difficult to choose. She recommended that I should apply again in the future which is a good sign but I left happy as I already had a job offer from another job.
A tip for me is just to be confident and gather much information as you can! Also work with your group and decide who is getting what information for the presentation! It helps. It’s one of the most funniest interviews if you get a group interview that you will ever have as I had some laughs!
The interview process felt very relaxed and informal, with plenty of time set aside at the end for questions and discussion. We met in a Costa next to the Odeon, which helped keep the atmosphere comfortable.
Presentation about working at Odeon. Group Interview was very fun. Then 1-1 interviews but it was more like 2-1. There was a cinema manager then a cinema host asking the questions and writing down notes. People who had full availability have a better chance of getting in than those who can’t work past 11pm

the interview process was very relaxed, with a very nice manager.Felt like a nice conversation, even if I didn't get an offer, it was a good experience. A lot of back and forth. Some of the questions were a bit odd such as the favourite food question, but it felt like they wanted to know me more as a person to see if i would fit in their team.
