Received a virtual interview, everything went well, and then was asked if I wanted to visit one of the corporate offices.
Hiring manager was running late, gave me a grand tour, perks of employees, etc. Met with a Talent Acquisition Specialist and we had a great conversation about the role and their team. I left feeling motivated and excited. At the same time I noticed a few flags such as a high turnover rate for that team (and other departments really). Not many people wanting to work in office because it’s required, when they could work hybrid elsewhere. Crazy amount of positions they had to fill and excessive presentations to upper heads of how much effort they’re putting in to find candidates.
I asked when I should expect to hear back, the hiring manager said by that day or next day latest. Then I was ghosted. I felt that this was really unprofessional seeing how it came from a team that searches for candidates and more importantly a Human Resources related team. The hiring manager even went out of their way to explain the importance of following up with candidates. Didn’t hear anything regardless -emailed twice. Even an apology or rejection would’ve really sufficed.
