I applied online for a final time, as I've passively applied in the past.
I had my screening and team interview and was allegedly waiting for the on-site. HR told me they wanted to hire by October 1st, b/c that's when track season starts, but the panel said it was December. They needed someone like yesterday....obviously..
I've done this role just fine elsewhere, but I get the feeling that New Balance wants you to struggle as they claim to be a laid back place and they're truly anything but. I can read between the lines of what I experienced and had I been a lesser skilled person, I would think it was ME. I know it wasn't. So if you are really skilled at your job, expect to be passed over.
They really NEED a soft skilled person for this role, as HR told me the person there is lacking this, but when you SHOW you have great soft and technical skills, you get passed over. Make it make sense......
Longest story short, the HR person handling the screening is very absent minded. They actually FORGOT to add me to one of the meetings and had I not contacted them first, I wouldn't have known the interview was THAT day for the second interview. I had to contact them AGAIN to know I was rejected and they said "oh, I thought I did this in Workday already. We're moving on."
Being as skilled and confident as I am in my skills, I ABSOLUTELY know it wasn't me. During the panel interview, 1/3 of the people interviewing me really made the interview sour. They were clearly threatened by my skills. I could've done a lot of good for New Balance, but unfortunately, the rudeness and forgetfulness of their team made it not with the excitement or effort of continuing for ME.
I would have to say this is my last time applying for New Balance. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as a local business, but unfortunately, they are not good for my soul, so I'm out! Their loss.
