I interviewed for this position last year, and I finally want to speak up about what a terrible and demeaning experience it was. I first did a screening with the recruiter who was very warm and friendly.
However, when it came to the interview with two team members, I was berated and gaslit for not giving the answers they desired. First they give me two technical SQL questions (keep in mind this is a phone call). The questions had no structure or context, and the interviewers kept going back and forth on how the question was formulated. When I gave my answer and I started with my assumptions due to the lack of context, the interviewers would cut me off and add more details because they were too incompetent to come up with these questions beforehand.
When I asked questions about the work culture and why they liked to work there, I received one word or one sentence answers and they clearly did not like their job. I asked what specific insurance this office worked with because I couldn’t find the information online, and one of the interviewers degrades me for not “doing research” before. It’s been a year and it’s still the worst interview experience I’ve had, like it actually haunts me.

Question 1
Some SQL questions that they didn’t even know the answer to either because they came up with these questions on the spot
Prior to the interview I met with HR and they noted my salary expectations were over their range, and they had to group with the hiring managers to confirm that they'd be able to stretch the range for me. They did and did the first round interview. That interview was fine, met with the 2 hiring managers and answered questions for an hour, went great. They extended a second round interview, and asked to create some visuals based on a fake data set for the meeting.
A weird ask, but made sense given the position. I worked on it for ~4 hours of my weekend, and went on the second interview for another hour presenting the results. HR circled back with me and told me they wouldn't be able to offer my salary and if I'd consider less.
IMO get it in writing that they're going to be able to meet your salary expectations before you waste your time.

They reached out to be pretty fast after I applied, and I had to fill out a questionnaire before interviewing. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience since the interviewers were grossly unprepared and rude. They asked me some SQL questions, but they didn't remember the prompt and kept changing the question as I was answering. The interviewers were unenthusiastic and didn't even discuss the details of the position. When it came time for me to ask them questions, the answers were blunt one-word responses, and one of the interviewers exploded on me for "not researching the company and office" when I asked a simple question about what insurance they work with.
