I applied for the position on Next's recruitment website and had to complete both a psychometric test (personality test) and a customer focused assessment (both online interactive assessments). Following that, I received a phone call around a week later from the store manager to tell me I had passed the first stage and that I would now be required to complete a telephone interview. I was asked several questions "What qualities do you think makes a good team member?", "How do you respond to challenging circumstances?" and "What retail experience do you have?". After answering these questions, the manager informed me I had passed the telephone interview. I was then invited to the store for a 'Team Assessment' - the next day and was greeted by the management and sales team when I arrived. Everybody was really friendly!
I was asked to hand over my passport so it could be photocopied and was then guided to the shop floor where on my way, I was told I would be completing a practical assessment. This involved working for 15 minutes on two different departments; children's wear and women's wear. It was explained to me that the aim of this practical assessment is to see how well I engage with customers whilst doing various tasks such as putting away stock left in the fitting rooms and making sure stock on the floor is well positioned and presentable. After this stage, I was asked to wait in the staff room for about 10 minutes, the manager then came to collect me and told me that I had been successful and they offered me the job there and then. I was also given a £10 next gift card and £10 in cash for performing extremely well at interview.
The whole process was very relaxed and the management team were very friendly, it's the most comfortable interview I have ever had!

Question 1
"What qualities do you think makes a good team member?", "How do you respond to challenging circumstances?" and "What retail experience do you have?".
Efficent and informative. provided the overall expectation of the job and what they expect from you. allowed you to choose from different times. instore assessment showed you more of what to expect from the job.
The interview was a very easy process, it was done through a phone interview first than an in person interview asking questions about myself and why should they pick me.
