Their tech interview didn't let candidates to show their skills in engineering practices like TDD even their job description focused TDD and engineering practices.
Instead, they asked questions that were mainly related to very corner understandings in Java. Some questions were completely not related to engineering mindset.
Beside corner understandings of Java, they also asked some problems of designing a SQL schema. When I explained my thoughts on the schema and discussed what I expected to be handled in the application layer instead of at the SQL level, one of the interviewers appeared impatient. He continuously emphasized that they were only interested in the SQL schema and expected everything to be handled at that level.
I found the interviewer's communication style to be somewhat close-minded and lacking openness. They did not allow for answers that were closer to real-life scenarios, limiting the discussion to purely SQL-focused aspects.
