The position was for a year's fixed contract and the process seemed OTT for it. First, there was a video call where the questions were extremely formulaic with no opportunity to build rapport or get to know potential co-workers. Next, you had to go into their office and spend four hours (!) unpaid doing a made-up task. It then took them three weeks to get back to me and reject me for a reason they already knew from my CV, so they didn't need to use up all my time to get the answer. Overall, it was a very clinical, cold process. No like any other interview process I've ever been through before.
