J'ai postulé via un établissement d'enseignement supérieur ou universitaire. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Morgan Stanley (Montréal, QC) en janv. 2018

      Entretien

There were 3 separate 30 interviews in addition to a short lunch with current technology analysts who have been through the program. Overall everyone I met with was very professional. Make sure to review object-oriented concepts, and be sure to articulate your thoughts out loud.

You get a hirevue after submitting your application. You are given 72 hours to complete it. They then say they will be in touch, but it has been two months, and I have not heard anything.

This was definitely the most unprofessional and insulting company I had to interview with. The interview was not only mean and dismissive, but was apparently discriminatory too. When I showed up for my on-campus interview, the first thing my interviewee says to me is, "Uhh...you do realize this is for the Technology Analyst program, right? That is what you are intending to interview for??" Yeah, umm....what did he think? I was coming to interview for a secretary position? Apparently based purely on my looks (because that was the very first thing he said to me) he assumed I wasn't fit for a technology analyst/software development position. I don't know, was it because I was a female? Because I don't look like a nerd? Who knows, but I obviously try to turn the interview around. I'm very polite and tell him that, yes, I was interested in that position. The interview was super easy, and aced all of the questions. But, despite that, he still had a bored and unimpressed look on his face the whole time. (He asked basic stuff like the differences between Java and C++, describe try/catch/finally and how to deal with exceptions, basic SQL & database theory, and write code that will reverse a string in place). Not too surprisingly, despite my acing the interview, I didn't get a callback. I might've thought it was just his personality -- that he was just a rough guy -- except that I spoke with another one of my friends who also interviewed with the same guy on campus. My friend (who is a male) described this same man as "super nice -- a grandfatherly type figure." My friend also aced the interview (I asked him, and we both said exactly the same type of answers) and my friend got a second round and a job offer. I guess you can come to your own conclusion, but the only conclusion I can see is that this guy blatantly disregarded me because I'm a girl, or for some other unknown reason, and despite the fact that I showed I had all the requisite skills, he still discriminated against. Sad, very sad. I would BEWARE of Morgan Stanley, if they hire people like this!
