I recently had the most unprofessional and disrespectful interview experience I've ever had. For my first interview with the district manager, I sacrificed work hours to be able to make it home for a virtual interview. I waited for an HOUR after the scheduled time. Instead of being notified of her whereabouts, I had to reach out to find out why she was so late. While I understand that schedules can get hectic, the lack of communication from her side was unacceptable. I was left in the dark without any updates or apologies, which felt incredibly disrespectful. We rescheduled for the following week, but once again, I found myself waiting another hour without any notification from her that she would be late. The ambiguity regarding whether we would connect via phone or Zoom added to the frustration—it's standard practice to provide clarity about the interview method beforehand. Another week went by and at this point I don't feel too inclined to move forward because the experiences I've had so far with the district manager makes me wonder if this a reflection of the workplace. I get a call to reschedule and decided to just give it one last chance. Two days later on the day of the interview, I get a call 15 minutes before I'm supposed to hop on Zoom, and was notified that the position had been filled and that the interview would not take place. This last-minute cancellation felt like a slap in the face after all the time I had already invested. Not getting the position wasn't really disappointing because I understand how difficult it is to find jobs in our current climate, however, it’s the sheer lack of professionalism and communication that was very disappointing. The district manager needs to do better.
