First, I want to clarify that this DS position disappeared 3 days before my 5h virtual onsite, which made me feel that something was not going right. The whole process takes me 2 weeks, I passed the 2nd 1h live EDA, and I thought I also nailed 5h VO since I did build out a model based on the datasets they sent me and the model metrics was good (~0.85 AUC and ~0.82 F1) and I also discussed very well about the ML system design. However, recruiter's feedback to me was that I lack DS skills, I was so confused, I also asked which round did I fail and what kind of candidate do you guys want for this DS position, the recruiter said she couldn't give more details. Then, 1 day later, I found there was another person who started working as a DS. So, I guess they already accepted another person but didn't tell me and still wanted to interview me and then failed me.
