I generally conduct all initial interviews. I then determine if I will present the candidate to the department head or interviewing manager. If the manager is interested in the candidate, I present the candidate to the Group Vice President. At that time we discuss on how we want to proceed.
All offers are contingent on a successful background check and a substance screening.

Why do you want to leave your current employer, ( or why did you separate from your previous employer?)
I ask them about their ability regarding the position they are interviewing for any why they should be the candidate of choice.
I ascertain the candidates personality to ensure there will be no cultural disruption if they should be hired.
