      J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Microway en mars 2022

      Entretien

      It started well and professional, went on two months, ended very unpleasant and unprofessional! A recruiter from a staffing company contacted me for the position. The recruiter pointed out I was the strongest candidate for the position. There were 5 Stages in the interview process 1. Phone Interview with the third-party recruiter: This was easy, and we talked about my professional background and how I can help with the company in HPC and AI efforts. 2. the second round was phone interview with the hiring managers ( yes two managers). One manager introduced the company. They were very professional and asked about my experience in the industry, tech sales, consulting, pricing strategy, building HW infrastructure with OEM HW manufacturers, HPC and AI space. We discussed extensively OEM market. They sounded very pleased with my answers. 3. the third round was zoom video interview two very same managers: In advance, one of them emailed me a ' what he called a small task ' outlining a real RFQ from one of their clients for HPC & AI cluster sales. he asked me to craft a HW / SW solution meeting the client's requirements described in the RFQ along with few follow-up questions. The zoom interview, they asked about my approach why I used the particular HW sets and the solution in the quote. It took about an hour and went well. They were both happy with my answers. 4. the fourth round was zoom video interview with another manager from another dept. : I didn't expect this one but It was pretty easy. the manager asked my technical background, sales process management and the relationships of the current employer with its channel partners and vendors, prices, service network. She also talked about inter-workings of the company and relationships with its channel partners and vendors. She also said the managers will contact me. I asked about how soon they can reach a decision. She replied back it will be a quick decision. On the follow up email to my "Thank you" email, she said 'it will be few weeks'. 5. the fifth round was zoom video interview with CEO. While I was made to believe to have a final decision, All of sudden, the one of the manager contact me to have another round of interview. This time, it was with CEO. As soon as the interview started, the CEO asked about where I am from overseas and questioned my ethnic background asking 'are you this'. I kept cool and responded politely 'No' . She kept asking questions about my boss and ethnic background of the company's customer base. ( really? ). It was going very unprofessional. I felt pretty uncomfortable and lost my motivation to go on. I responded her questions without much thinking. She sounded 'not satisfied with how the previous process is executed' asked questions digging previous processes done by the recruiter and the managers. She had a list of the questions and even asked about the warehouse size of my current employer, the company facility accommodations and whether I could agree to pay my own health insurance. Overall, it was not a ' pleasant' experience. One point, I didn't even see a point to go on the interview. Looking back, I should have stopped after she asked about my ethnic background. As the title says it started very professional and ended very unprofessional , just like in an interview with a small business owner.
