Applied for a position in the Numonyx Job Portal in early March, 2011.
Got a phone call from the Team Manager on early April.
Phone Interview was for 30 - 40 minutes, asked questions related to my projects and various tools.
Explained about the job responsibilities and other logistics.
Short Listed for the On-Site Interview a week later.
On Site Interview consisted of five one on one rounds,
Four of them were technical and one was a Behavior/Skills round.
Each interviewer asked a chain of technical questions related to their field followed by a quick Behavior questions.
Behavior Questions consisted of Failure Analysis, Work Ethics, relationship with Professors/Supervisors, Working towards Deadlines, Documenting skills etc.
Technical Interview was stressed upon the CMOS Design, Basic Digital Design Concepts (Logic Minimization, analysis of NAND/NOR Gates), Timing Analysis (Reduction of critical path delays) and Knowledge of PERL and other scripting languages.
Also stressed briefly on Layouts and Standard Cell Design. Concentrate more on I-V Curves and Power Consumption.
The Interviewers involved the team members, team manager and managers of other groups working closely with this group.
The Group was relatively very young so they made me comfortable with anecdotes from their college experiences and their experience with various professors and courses.
The interview was lively and low stress. Confidence is the key.
