Just to apply for the job, you have to do an entire interview which is fully proctored by camera. They have an AI interviewer, which you have to speak to as though it's a person, just to ask questions which they could've used a simple web form for instead to achieve the exact same thing. They also force you to be on camera which feels super creepy, over the top, and unnecessary, because it just adds to the stress of interviews for no reason. If I am on camera, I expect an on camera interviewer as well. They do this to try and prevent "cheating" because they expect you not to use AI to complete it, despite using AI themselves to evaluate you. This company ought to remember that candidates are evaluating them as well. I'm happy to do a take-home coding assessment, but filming me while I do it is invasive and demeaning, not to mention the unrealistic expectation that nobody will use Google or other tools easily available to them on the job, so this isn't even evaluating your abilities to perform the role. It's not really an interview if it's fully automated (no human involvement on their part) and every candidate that applies goes through it. That's just an extremely long job application, and I think it's worth noting that it's substantially more work than most companies will ask you to do just to get your resume in their pool.
