I applied as a mid developer.
The process took 3 weeks
165 meeting minutes + homework
1st round (30min) with HR, questions regarding Mews, you, your experience, salary expectations, availability, how do you learn new things.
2nd round (60min) with engineering manager, again you are introducing yourself, speaking about your experience, what you are most proud of in terms of learning a new technology, just talking about the engineering teams. If you have more short-term tenures in your CV, they ask you for the reason you change jobs so much.
3rd step: homework (took me several hours to complete)
4th step: technical round (75min) with 2 developers. This one was the most disappointing to me. First of all, they didn't know anything about what I've already said in previous rounds, so I had to repeat myself again for the 3rd time. Followed by 20+ scripted questions regarding soft-skills, then Javascript, React and Typescript questions that felt like they were just taken from the Internet.
We talked about my home assignment for only like 10 mins and I was told it looks good.
After this round I got a rejection e-mail stating that I was not defending my solutions enough, that some of my answers were insufficient or I didn't remember the answer (even though I was told ahead that it's okay if I don't know something) and that my task was not completed to the standard required for the role, without stating what exactly the standard is.
Feels like you are just one of many applicants and therefore it gets unorganized and impersonal. Also, most of the time it really felt like a one-sided interview, lacking signs of a natural human conversation.
Hope you find this feedback helpful and they eventually improve the process for the future candidates. Good luck!

The Process:
First Interview – Recruiter: Discussed my background and the role.
Second Interview – Cultural Fit: Focused on company values and how I’d fit.
Third Interview – Technical: Talked about my technical experience and technical concepts.
Take-Home Assignment: Worked on a frontend task using an external API over a week. The task was clear and well-structured.
Final Interview: Met with the Engineering Manager and an Engineer.
My Experience:
The final interview included a first kind of cultural part, with some questions being repeated from previous stages. Then, a short part of the take-home assignment review with just a couple of very specific questions, followed by technical concepts quiz, where we spent most of the time. Confusing since I expected this interview to focus on the assignment I spend days working on rather than a second round of programming concepts.
Communication throughout the process could also be improved. Some responses were slower than expected, and a few clarification emails I sent didn’t receive replies.
Overall:
The team at Mews is great, and I think the challenges I encountered were more about the structure of the interview process rather than the people. With clearer expectations for each interview stage and more responsive communication, the candidate experience could be significantly improved.

The whole interview process didn't take longer than 10 days, there were 3 rounds basically. 1st round was with an HR specialist, the second was with team leader and a senior frontend engineer. After the second round I was given a home assignment which was afterwards the topic of discussion of the 3rd and final round (again with team leader and fe engineer). Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and forthcoming. Casual atmosphere.
