CV Cover Letter, Video Interview, Interview Day.
First of all, when I was emailed with an invite for the interview I was addressed as a different candidate. I was then emailed about the interview day from 2 different people which got quite confusing. I was invited to attend an interview day 2 days before scheduled, which was the cancelling the evening before.
The offices were nice and those leading the day did well in explaining the company.
For the interview day, it last 2 hours and started late. There was no interview question or process which discussed my motivations for applying for the job or how my skills and experience would be right for the job. The interview day, though was fun and easy, was very short and doesn't do well in showing your strengths, weaknesses as a candidate. There was no actually interview and the group task was essentially an ice breaker, so I find it difficult how the interviewers would know the right person for the job based on that afternoon. Which makes it seem like the company hires heavily based on who they like, rather than skills and experience, which is quite unfair. I was called in for a brief chat with the two who led the interview day about how the afternoon, went and any recommendations. I was then asked why I was applying for the job so early, which seemed silly to ask, as I am a final year undergrad and the job was advertised as grad scheme with a 2018 summer start date.
The company does seem great though, with good benefits and awesome team culture.
When I didn't get the job, I was emailed without any reason. Though I was offered to reach out for feedback, they said this would be done within 2 weeks, which is a little unprofessional as we were told we would get feedback without asking.
Overall, the interview process in itself was easy, but just think the recruitment and selection process needs improving!
