      Entretien

I interviewed with this company out of the San Jose office. We'll start with the bad and then get to the good. The bad: The client delivery manager in my opinion was very condescending from the onset of the interview. I've interviewed with dozens of companies in my job search, many with more prestigious companies and have spoken with much more tenured managers, supervisors, directors, etc and she was by far the least professional, least accomplished, least pleasant to talk to and had the biggest ego. I felt like rather than trying to have a conversation with me, she was trying to grill me or catch me off guard. That may be how she was trained to interview or how she may have been interviewed for her position but that has not been my experience with other companies thankfully. I'd spent countless hours preparing for SDR interviews for months and even more so researching this company. I'd given similar answers to other companies that I've received offers from and have received positive feedback but she told me that that I seemed unprepared and that my answers were not brief enough for her (ironically the interview was 30 mins long and I was able to answer all of her questions within the first 15-20). Her tone was rude for most of the interview and she seemed disinterested from the beginning. In speaking with other companies, MemoryBlue also seems to be antiquated in terms of work culture. The expectation is 5 days in office and from what I recall they require you to wear suits, dress shoes, ties, etc. and I've even heard of people being publicly chastised if they didn't. That's simply not how the world operates anymore. It's also a grind, where you're doing 100+ cold calls a day. Most companies don't require you to make that many calls a day and instead have a multi-thread approach that doesn't seem to be utilized at MemoryBlue. The Good: Memoryblue will definitely open doors for you and they have great training. You'll develop good strong work habits as an SDR. If you do happen to work there, you can use it to elevate to a better company. Their system is developed for you to make connections and get hired out. All of the SDRs that I know that have worked there have gone on to become AEs and higher if they continued in the tech sales route. It's a great place to start.

Phone screening, then recruiter call, then another call with recruiter to prep for a 2 hour in person interview. Then a final interview with a mock cold call. Overall waste of time and poor communication by both the recruiter and managers. Interviewers were also shifted twice which definitely threw me off. 5 interviews for a $50K> job where they promote their culture and working hard to not earn your commission until you stay for 1.5 years.

Spoke to two hiring managers that were respectful and professional. The whole process lasted two hours. I basically said the same thing in both interviews. It was a little long, but I understand why they set it up like that.
