I moved here with a lab but in that lab my interview process was pretty standard as it would be in an academic setting. There was a full day of meeting with post docs and PI's and I had to give a talk on my research. There were questions specific to my research.

Do you think your SVM is overfitting on the data and that is why you get good training results but bad results on actual data?
