In all there were a total of 7 interviews altogether.
Firstly I was contacted via email from a technical recruiter whom had later called and the first interview was conducted. It was a vibrant introduction into the Company's background, their vision for the future and what the roles & responsibilities are for the said position. As this position is based in Asia, the second call came from the HR manager from the local branch office. He said that he would like to meet up for discussions and that he would also arrange for another interview with the Senior IT Manager whom is based abroad. The directions provided to the local office was clear and arriving at the location was a breeze. The second interview went as planned and we discussed on the HR aspects of the position such as the working hours and also did touched on some of the benefits.
Before the third interview with the Senior IT Manager, there was a 15-20 minutes wait but it was understandable as this requires some remote video setup from the local office to the branch office abroad. Once the video connection was established the interview proceeded. It was a highly technical discussion and it took around 40 minutes to complete. Overall the firm's IT infrastructure and the expected level of support for such a base was much more clearer once the meeting was over. The fourth interview came unexpectedly when one of the senior marketing staff had stepped into office. We had a delightful conversation which was not job related however it continued for about 20 minutes and it was more of a social type of meeting that identifies character and personality traits.
After 5 days of inactivity, I received another email from the local HR Manager to schedule for a second round of interviews with the Senior IT Manager, one of his colleague and also the local Office manager. The second meeting with the Senior IT Manager went on for around 30 minutes and prior to that had spent 20 minutes with his colleague. All the technical nitty-gritty were being discussed during those sessions which was then followed by a written technical test. And the last interview for that day was with the Office Manager which lasted for 40 minutes. The discussion we had was about the different roles each individual in the team is involved in.
The final interview was with the IT Director and it was scheduled by the Recruitment Coordinator whom had kindly provided tips and reading materials pertaining to the company's business beforehand which did helped in the preparations. The last meeting ended well and he had also shared with me his experience on his role as the IT Director and had described the working atmosphere in the firm and also touched on it's expected growth and the company's presence for the Asia Pacific region.
