The interview process was pretty standard up until the People and Culture Interview. Phone interview with the hiring manager; in-person interview with the hiring manager; In-person interview with hiring manager + 3 peers and a People and Culture "fit" interview. The People and Culture Interview was one of the more uncomfortable interviews I've experienced. It was more like an interrogation. The interviewer began by stating "this is the interview to find the person behind the resume. We want to know all about you, starting with high school. We want to know all about the choices you've made the reasons for those choices, the various career changes you've made, the reasons for those changes, inflection points and their significance. I'd like you to hold your questions until the end. At which time you'll have 10 minutes to ask me questions." During her questioning, she asked me several things that were inappropriate, borderline, illegal. She referenced my "lengthy" work experience (I have 22 years of business experience) a number of times. She asked example based questions, which is great, but she seemed not to like the examples I gave and became visibly frustrated. She also asked a number of ethics questions, which I think is great, but she asked them in alternating fashion almost as if to try to trip me up. Unfortunately, she hadn't allowed me to get to know her at all and there was no mutual rapport. In the end, I just felt turned off.

Thank you for your feedback. I truly apologize for the one-way nature of your cultural interview experience. You are right: there should be time for candidates to build mutual rapport with the interviewer, get a sense of our culture, and determine whether our culture is one in which they would thrive. I personally try to leave at least 20 minutes for the candidate to ask me questions but sometimes (actually, often), such as when a candidate goes into a lot of depth, I am left with just a few minutes. I will ask the cultural interviewing team (myself included!) to better protect the time for candidate questions. I also regret that you felt your interviewer was interrogating you and potentially trying to trip you up. I can assure you that is not our intent at all. If you have any other suggestions for our cultural interviewing team, I would love to hear them at amy.pressman@medallia.com.

took over 2.5 months. Screening call with recruiter then zoom with regional director then zoom with SVP. Then rec'd email that my recruiter was being transferred back and was assigned a new recruiter who I didn't hear from for more days. Had to leave voicemails and send emails to the former recruiter for the new recruiter to get back to me. Then over 2.5 weeks after my final interview I was finally sent an email to book 15 min call on his link to receive my feedback. sends incorrect link, after he corrects the link I open his calendar to find I have to book another days out just to find out my decision. This was the most disrespectful way to treat a candidate and a call as soon as he knew would have been respectful, instead of stringing me along wondering for such a long time. For a company that deals in employee experience, wow you guys really are missing the mark here. Told many others of this experience and they agreed it was handled poorly, to make a candidate book time on a calendar, then wait so long for a simple rejection call. I think there's so major work to be done here, as the recruiters don't seem to stay long and the process was quite scattered. The first recruiter even scheduled an interview with the wrong person and didn't notice it until I pointed it out to him, causing him to reschedule it correctly. I use these red flags to realize I wouldn't want to work for a company like this.

How many pages and applications and questions that are insignificant to this role do I have to answer? Medallia, whatever useless IT company you are— make it easy to apply for jobs. I probably could get this job I tried applying for but you guys make me take 20 minutes filling out your senseless applications, but I’m better off not wasting my time with your hapless process.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Everyone was very helpful throughout the process which took around 2 weeks in total. Standard hr screening then 2 interviews with management. Interviewers were really engaged!
