Pretty simple process. I had a 45 minute phone interview with a recruiter that went through some behavorial questions and deep-dived into my resume. The recruiter asked a lot of follow-up questions about my experiences.
Then, I had a virtual interview day (thanks, Covid!) with an hour long tour of the facilities and then one-on-one interviews with 3 other members. I had a virtual lunch chat with 2 people currently in the program.
Overall, it was four hours straight of interviewing. They are looking to see how engaged you can be throughout the day, so be sure to ask interesting questions to your interviewers and definitely try to use up the entire hour or so allotted to each interviewer.

Make sure to ask lots of questions. It is very easy to be "duped" into thinking that you are doing well, but you have absolutely no idea. Seems like an amazing gig, and they definitely want to hear you stress and talk about the work-life balance.

If the university you chose was your "first choice" as well as what other offers you had.

They flew me out for it and put me up in a hotel and everything. Then the interview was a full day - someone was assigned to greet me, give a tour, eat lunch, and three different interviews getting more and more senior throughout the day. Lots of questions for examples of times when I … and pulled straight from the prep they send.
