I found out about this job through a connection in mid-February. I had a phone interview with the HR director, an in person interview with with HR, operations manager, and NP two weeks later. I had a panel interview the following week. Questions were pretty straightforward about my background and about how I would handle difficult situations in the context of a patient care setting.
I was offered the job several days after the panel interview. However, I received the offer hours before the SIP order went into effect so the start date was tentative. I told HR director that I'm don't want to give notice at my current job without a firm start date which she understood. I checked in every few weeks to express continued interest until I was offered another job last week. I accepted the other offer because I was guaranteed a firm start date and it was part time so would allow me to better balance work and school.
