After my fourth interview, I realized I may have been a victim of Ageism. I thought my skill set was a perfect match and can offer more than the job requirements. I consider myself an expert in my field. I looked up the hiring manager and interviewers and have 10+ years more experience than them. During the first couple of interviews, I didn't sense this would be a problem. They told me I was the leading candidate. The last interview was a video conference and I suited up and etc. I sensed at that point I was a threat to their position and my age and extensive experience, and grey hair and beard played a part in their decision. They passed. The next employer will gain from my experience and talent!
