Entretien
The process consisted of three rounds.
1. Interview with Engineer. Some behavioural questions but mostly technical questions related to Java core.
2. Super Day. This consisted of three back to back interviews. The first two were technical with engineers. They were all coding based problems, LeetCode style questions, with some technical questions on Java core. The last round was with a manager, these were mainly behavioural questions relating to my experience.
3. Interview with Hiring Manager. This round was getting to know the team and the project. Not much of an interview more conversational.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Standard behavioural questions relating to experience.
Technical questions were Java core style questions, a lot in relation to OOP.
Coding questions were all LeetCode style questions.

I interviewed for the Software Engineer II position at Mastercard.
The interview process consisted of four rounds covering automation testing, technical discussions, problem-solving, and a final discussion with the technical leadership team. The interviewers were knowledgeable, and the technical discussions were engaging.
However, the overall recruitment process felt poorly coordinated. There were communication gaps during interview scheduling, and throughout the entire process I did not receive a single direct call from the recruiter except for one update call after the interviews. Most communication happened through emails, which often made it difficult to get clarity on the status of the application.
After completing all four rounds, I was informed that my interview feedback was positive and that I had successfully cleared the interview rounds. I was then asked to update and resubmit my resume to better highlight relevant banking-domain experience, which I promptly did.
Shortly afterward, I received a rejection email stating that Mastercard had decided to move forward with other candidates. Given the positive feedback and the request for an updated resume, the outcome was unexpected. I subsequently sent an email seeking clarification regarding my application status but did not receive a response.
Mastercard has always been one of the companies I aspired to work for, and I invested significant time and effort preparing for and completing the interview process. While I respect the company’s hiring decisions, the lack of transparency and communication during the final stages was disappointing.
The interview experience itself was positive, but the candidate experience after the interviews could be improved through better communication, clearer expectations, and more timely updates.

The process was your average Java / Spring interview, I thought it went rather smoothly, the interviewer was a senior engineer who gave clear questions that were not difficult to understand.
There are 3 rounds of interviews. all of them are technical and based on the technology you're shortlisted for. They were supposed to be scheduling next round but I never heard from them. Pathetic experience from HR.
