      Candidature

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Marlin Hawk en déc. 2018

      Entretien

Phone interview followed by Facetime interview. This would have been followed by a face to face interview. The first interview was positive, informative and I was very interested in the role at that stage. However, during the second interview I was asked discriminatory questions such as “do you have children”. Last time I checked, this is illegal in the UK. I wonder if men being interviewed were asked the same question. I was also asked where I live and how long my commute is. Both discriminatory questions also. 3 weeks after this interview, my agency had not had any contact from this company. No thank you for attending interview and no feedback. I’ve since told my agency that I don’t want or need the feedback. I pulled out of the process as I found out the working hours were ridiculous and something I’d never come across in my whole career. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that this company did not contact my agency after the second interview which is normal practise and professional courtesy. I concluded that this is a company with no interest in work life balance hence the working hours and discriminatory line of questioning during second interview. I also found the interviews too long and too invasive about my past. I was asked to go through everything on my CV and even explain areas of my education and life that had no relevance to the job applied for. I think this company needs to mature as far as their interview processes go. Immature, inappropriate and rude not following up. Not impressed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your interview. We work hard to ensure all of our interviews are positive experiences and are constantly assessing and improving our interview processes. We are saddened to read you felt negatively about the company after your interview and believe there was some miscommunication about family life as the conversation took place over the Christmas period. We have taken every step to ensure general conversation is not confused with assessment criteria again in the future. While we absolutely welcome your thoughts on our working hours, they are well within standard hours held by most companies across all of the locations we operate in. A healthy culture around working hours is of paramount importance to us as a global firm, which is why we offer flexible working hours when needed and have a number of policies in place to aid employees in all circumstances. Please feel free to reach out to us directly should you want to discuss anything further. We wish you the best in the future and thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback. Kindest Regards, Marlin Hawk
