My interview process for a position at Mark's in Burnaby, BC, in 2019 was quite straightforward and efficient. Please keep in mind this is based on my memory from a few years ago, so some details might be an estimation.
Application & Invitation:
I started by applying for the position via an online application. After submitting my application, I received an email invitation for an in-person interview, which was the next step in the process.
The Interview Day:
When I went in for the interview, it was a quick experience, lasting about 15 minutes. The person who interviewed me was the store manager for that particular branch. I remember being asked several questions, two of them which I recall:
"Tell me about yourself."
"Where do you see yourself in five years?"
The interview felt like a good way for the manager to get a quick sense of my personality and goals.
Next Steps:
At the very end of the interview, I was asked to complete a background check, which I took as a positive sign regarding my candidacy.
Overall, it was a concise and focused interview process for a retail role.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
1- Tell me about yourself/Introduce yourself
2- Where do you see yourself in five years?
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Mark's (Toronto, ON) en juin 2025
Entretien
The interview was detailed and lasted about thirty minutes, The manager was experienced and it felt more like a conversation than an actual interview. Most questions were scenario-based and experience-based. Got a call a week later telling me that I got the job.
Quick and easy. Asked questions that you would expect. They had a form of questions and just went through it. I went in with my resume and went back after a week just for an update and was scheduled for an interview.
