I applied to Makpar in December 2024 but didn’t hear back for over two months. In February 2025, I finally received an email to schedule a phone screen. Given the long wait without any communication, my first impression was already negative. Additionally, I was concerned about the prevalence of fake job listings and spam during my job search. After confirming that the position was legitimate, I scheduled the phone screen with the recruiter. During the call, the recruiter repeatedly mentioned her seven years of recruiting experience, at least three times. At one point, after I answered a question, she asked me to repeat my response just minutes later; seemingly, she had already forgotten my response. She also stated they had received 1,300 resumes for the role and preferred applicants with experience in Rippling. Overall, my experience with Makpar during this brief phone screen was quite negative, and it's definitely not a good fit for what I was seeking in a new role.
