I had a very strange interview experience with Makersite. There were 4 interviews over the course of several weeks. The first 3 were interesting- a little rushed, but I was impressed with the calibre of my interviewers. The final interview was with the CEO, and this was quite possibly the strangest interview I've experienced. It was evident that he had not read my CV beforehand, and kept interrupting with random questions- for example in relation to my time at University (I graduated in 2016). I got the sense that he wasn't listening to any of my responses to his questions, and he mentioned more than once that he studied as an Astrophysicist and that his company "says no to the likes of people from Google on a daily basis".
In short, it seemed like a really weird power play. After the interview I was told by HR that the CEO had recommended me not for the role I applied for, but for 2 other roles that I had absolutely no experience in (only cementing the idea that he hadn't been listening to my responses). When asked how the company differentiates its offerings from competitors? the response? We are the best, therefore we have none....
