J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Macy's (San Jose, CA) en mai 2013
Entretien
I applied online and submitted my resume then was emailed the following week to schedule my interview. At the location, there are more women than men working there. The hiring manager read questions from an application. For me, I'm a male and lacked sales experience, I found the interview difficult. I cannot remember the order of the questions but here they are:
- Why do you want to work for Macy's?
- Are you still going to school? What's your degree? What's your major?
- What are you or what have you been doing after graduation?
- Do you have any experience in a sales environment? Can you provide an example?
- Tell me about a time where you manage multiple priorities.
- Tell me how you would sell a Macy's card to a customer.
- Tell me about a time you had to work as a team to reach a goal. Did it work out? What was your role?
Scenario based:
- How do you sell a pair of pants?
- What if the customer says, "I don't need your help" then how would you still try to sell them the pair of pants?
- How would you celebrate a sell with a customer?
The core of the interview was the scenario because my interview was leading to these questions. I read a lot of the other interview reviews and thought this question was easy to answer. I think I hit a dead end with the 2nd question when the customers says "I don't need your help." My interview lasted for 20 minutes, and I didn't get the job offer. I was told, "Sorry, there are no available Retail Sales Associate positions available."
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Scenario based:
- How do you sell a pair of pants?
- What if the customer says, "I don't need your help" then how would you still try to sell them the pair of pants?
- How would you celebrate a sell with a customer?
Depending on how you answer the first question, there may or may not be a follow-up question about the customer saying, "No, I don't need your help".

Virtue first. Then, at the store. Interview questions are not hard but hiring manager/s are sketchy. They posted part time positions but when I got into the interview they said their looking for people wanting full time job. So unprofessional to take my time.

Basic interview process. Applied online and was called in for an interview about a week later. Nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. No assessments needed. I talked about 2 managers.
