I arrived for my interview ten minutes early. I spent a week preparing. I purchased a new blazer and a pair of black dress pants, that I wore with flats to this interview. the girl next to me, also waiting to be interviewed, was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a leather jacket. I prepared myself by reading the interview questions posted here, on glassdoor, and I was ready for the interview. The lady who interviewed me asked me several of the questions that were already written on here, so I felt totally prepared and like I answered them professionally. She asked me what my availability would be for this month, and I told her that after the next two weeks are over, I would have full availability because I will be on break from school. She asked me, so when will you be able to work then, if you have full availability? ...I was a bit offended but told her that I have full availability, so anytime should work for me, except that I take the train, which only runs till 12:30 AM. she told me I need full availability on the weekends and sometimes they don't get out till 12:30, that she would love to hire me, but my availability is bad. I told her that I would be willing to work morning shifts, and that if it comes down to it I could figure a way to get home, if i was actually leaving past 12:30. if she thought I was incompetent for the job, she should have said so, instead of telling me my availability was off. I don't understand why else I would have been scheduled to interview if my availability didn't work for them. I had a very bad experience with this interview and I was offended by the tone of interviewer--i have no idea what her position even was because she did not introduce herself to me--and i felt like i was totally qualified to have this job. your loss, macy's.
