I made it to the group interview round. I put in an application online and received and invitation to a group interview. I was the only female with four other men in this interview group. We were given an overview of the company, how the app works, and what being a valet would be like. They consistently emphasized that they really needed to hire valets and there were many opportunities to move up within the company. We answered a series of questions as we introduced ourselves including where we are from, why luxe, how many hours we were interested in working, and whether or not we could drive a manual transmission. These questions were answered quickly and the interviewers did not press for much information. They put an emphasis on the fact that this was not a requirement for the job, but after reading other reviews I think people who do drive manual are more likely to be hired. We then filled out a drive questionnaire that mostly consisted of questions about driving a manual transmission. We were told that our background checks would take anywhere from 3 hours to three weeks to come through and that we would hear back as soon as they cleared. The whole interview took less than 25 minutes. One thing to note is that I interviewed in Austin, and because lyft and uber have just left, many of those drivers are interviewing with luxe. I heard back in less than a day that luxe was not interested in moving forward with hiring me.

Went well, low key, informative, interesting. VERY clear what you were getting into, what the company is doing, and what is expected. There are also Youtube videos. We (12-15 in my group) were invited to their offices at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. We checked in and were then asked to join the interviewer in a conference room where he described the company, outlined our duties, and answered questions. He was low-key and answered the many questions asked: Q: how does it work? A: the customer downloads the iPhone or Android app and makes a request for parking. We valets show, drive the car to a lot (I don't know how they choose what lots to use), and park the car. Q: I don't have an iPhone. A: Luxe will rent an iPhone to you while you are employed as a valet for $13/week. While the client can summon a Valet with either an iPhone or an Android, we valets must have at least an iPhone 5c. Q: I don't drive a stick "that" well. A: The requirements of the job are that one MUST drive a stick smoothly. There is no on the job training. Q: are there company branded clothing we have to wear? A: Yes, jackets. After the overview we were then interviewed in groups of 2-3 to see if we were selected. I rec'd an email a copy of days later saying I was accepted. Cool! I then had to pass an extensive background check. However, it went quickly. Pretty cool!
